Good pressure washer August 25, 2010 Salvatore Troiano (Orlando, Fl United States) I've used the AR383 pressure washer a couple of times so far. It works quite well, and, unlike other reviews I've seen, the fittings don't leak. It cleans off surfaces better than an older, lower pressure washer I used to have, and it stores easily in a compact space. There are, however, a few "ergonomics" issues that detract from what could have been a stellar unit. First - re potential leaks: I'm sure that mine doesn't leak because I was able to thoroughly tighten the pressure fitting at the bottom of the front of the unit. The plastic housing of the unit is molded in such a way that the fitting is too close to nearby the housing surfaces. It is EXTREMELY difficult to tighten the fitting, because there isn't enough free space around the fitting to allow your fingers to easily fit around the fitting while tightening it. Very difficult to do. So much so that I only want to do this once. Then, there's the matter of "tool" storage - The AC cord wraps around the back of the unit, in back of the mountings for the wands and accessory handle. this means that the accessories have to be removed when storing the cord, or unwrapping the cord. Lastly, the interchangeable wands are quite difficult to attach. When they lock in place, there's no positive feedback that they've been fastened securely. Several times I've had one of the wands simulating a projectile when the pressure was turned on. Fortunately, it only shoots out about 6 feet. I wonder if anyone at the factory/design house ever tried using this unit themselves. It would have been so easy to make a few minor changes which could have made this a perfect unit. All things considered, while I am annoyed at these design aspects(especially because I'm a design engineer), I still like the unit, as it does the job well.
Just about right August 25, 2010 reviewertwo I've used my new 1900 PSI Electric Pressure Washer for preparing a wooden deck for painting, cleaning a stretch of darkened sidewalk, and washing my car. I like my purchase. In the past I rented a gasoline powered pressure washer, which gouged the surface of the deck and eroded the surface of the sidewalk. The 1900 PSI pressure washer does the job on the side walk, but only with a lot of passes. It's ideal for the deck. I was unimpressed that spraying with all purpose cleaner helped clean up the algae on the shadowed sides of the deck's spindles.
Pros and Cons August 22, 2010 Funky Boss (Austin, TX United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Pros: The unit is lightweight and easy to move. It has a variety of included attachments to tackle almost all jobs around the home. One nice feature is the adjustable spray tip on the wide-angle wand. The unit has a lot of power for an electrical pressure washer -- more than enough to clean driveways, decks, grills, mowers, etc. Cons: As mentioned in many other reviews, the plastic hose adapter leaks water, right in the middle where the two washers meet. The leaking is so bad as to make the unit unusable, unless you enjoy being sprayed with a torrent of water while you work. The solution: go down to your local hardware store and buy a brass male-to-male hose adapter for 8 bucks. Now you are in business. The high-pressure hose that runs from the unit to the spray-gun is made from a stiff plastic that tangles easily and is hard to manage as you move around. I am currently researching buying an after-market hose made from high quality rubber to avoid this problem. Also, don't bother storing the hose using the built-in reel. It is fussy work trying to get the hose on and off, and bending the hose in tight circles makes it that much easier to tangle when you use it. Simply coil the hose loosely and drop it around the top of the handle. This will save you lots of time. Final thoughts: This unit provides a good value among other electric pressure washers, if you don't mind upgrading the hose adapter and dealing with a slightly annoying hose.
AR North America pressure washer August 19, 2010 gilbert This is the first pressure washer I have owned. After reading through many reviews on many different pressure washers, I chose this one. The reviews were very positive and many people thought it did a good job. I have to agree. No problem reading the instructions and putting it together. I have used it to clean our patio stones and it did a great job.The patio never looked better. Cleaned the grille racks and they came out great. I am looking to find more jobs for my pressure washer.
Great product August 18, 2010 Carl A. Olson The pressure washer purchased is easy to use. I have finished using it to clean the vinyl siding on our home and was pleased with the performance.
